Hauling tops and trunks around on the property. The Durango is very good at pulling it's weight around the yard. Except for when I run into a big sharp rock and rip a 2 inch hole in the sidewall. Oops! The bad news is, tires cost money! So much for any hope of getting Charlie on the road any time soon. This will dry up the bedliner, gaskets, valve seals and license fees I had set aside. The good news is, these tires were worn out and dry rotting anyway, plus now I can put the new wheels on too. Sean, note that leg/face (off to the left, first pic) can't even stand to look.
It was under some leaves, not exactly super visible. Anyway, At the time I was watching a 30' vine come crashing down as I ripped it from an old oak tree. And furthermore, shut up.
You never really appreciate how fast those rocks are - almost as fast as the phone poles that will chase you down and slam plumb into you. Sneaky too, real sneaky. They wait until you are occupied lookin' at sumthun else then "BAM" they will strike without warning!!!
Dan I didn't even notice it at first. I just figured the vine (6" diameter) was digging into the ground as I was pulling because there was a lot more resistance than I figured there should be. When I got out of the Durango the ground was a lot closer than it usually is! I retraced the tracks and saw what was probably the culprit. Oh well, life comes at you fast, they say. Oh and Carl, shut up.
Told you they were sneaky. Hide under leaves in wait, and then strike without so much as a rattle or a hiss! Fast suckers too.
DA cherry picker. I said it was dragging like the part I was pulling was plowing in. If you've never hauled timber around your property then zip your trap. The folks here who have done real work at some point in their lives understood what I meant. And no Dan, she took it in stride, ship happens.
Dang! The mind's eye imagery was gonna be priceless. I had the seismic gear ready looking for the equivalent of Krakatoa or Timbora. Double Dang! Shucks even.
about fell out of chair when I read this you do real work!!!!!!!!!!!now thats funny.....let me see a picture of this so called 6 inch diameter vine.....
Curious, very curious... those cuts look awfully straight - you say you have worn tires and new wheels??? Hmmmm.
Hit a rock.....yea, I hear ya. That "rock" was the curb in front of the Dunkin' Donuts. I bet you were watchin' a 6" vine......No.......I won't even go there....
Yeah, it was the curb at a dunkin donuts, and I drove it home on the rim. Laugh on everyone, make your fun. Who knows why you're compelled to do so, but fire away. I just posted this cuz people like to see things broke/fixed, or whatnot. When I'm not pissing around at work I do actually perform tasks of manual labor, when it benefits me.
Hey! I was helpin' you out. I noted how fast those dog gone rocks can be, sneaky, sneaky fast! Ingrate! Sheesh!!!
You, not too helpful. But them, outright mean. The close up pic of the sidewall shows the tear but doesn't really show the puncture impact point as well. It's at the bottom of the tear and quite obvious. And the fact that it's a Durango makes no diff. It's the dang tire that gave out. The Durango still rules.
Me, not helpful? See if I ever try to help you out of a circumstance of your own making leaving you only with yourself to blame!
