First off, they had the Falcon Utes for years after Ranchero was discontinued here, now they are getting...

    Mustang V8-powered Ford Ranger

"...Ford has secretly hired an outside engineering firm to figure out how to swap the four-cylinder for Mustang's 5.0-liter V8..."

I always thought should make a Ranger version with their 5.2L...they wouldn't be able to keep up the demand IMHO...

They are built in a bunch of obscure places like Thailand, Argentina and South Africa

If that were true, they'd be building them.

Figures the Aussie's would do it. I inherited my Dad's 2002 Ranger with a 3.0L V-6. What a wimp! It will run 80 mph all day but takes a while to get there.

I really wanted to do the 5.0L V-8 swap but Colorado emissions strictly forbids swapping an older engine into this otherwise fine truck.
