We don't know all the details yet, of course. It's quite possible that a bunch of friends were showing off for each other too, and the truck was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Seems some of the fatalities were in the truck as well. I'm not going to condemn the truck driver just yet. Everyone should be mindful and careful for everyone on the roads when they are operating a motor vehicle. That goes for the motorcyclists as well as the four wheeled folks. Shame, what a tragedy.
They also weren't a bunch of crotch rocket's, looks like a nice evening cruise with friends who I doubt were crossing the line, I agree that it was a horrible tragedy. From dirt bikes to enjoying the wind in my face for over 50 yrs, I like you will wait for the outcome.
And I will ad that during the colder day's I wear a full helmet, Texas is a helmet optional state so fair weather I'm mostly helmet free or a half shell. Harley 100 yr anniversary Heritage Soft Tail, with deer whistlers on my front fender.
I am not a bike rider but have always respected them. With that in mind that tragedy is about 1.5 hour from my house and it is noted that it is a very rural area and not the 1st accident in that area. I have read that the pick up was towing a goose neck car hauler which I believe was empty. The article states that the truck crossed the center line and the driver over corrected and the trailer jackknifed. Being it is a rural area the speed limit is most likely ignored due to the small amount of traffic around. https://boston.cbslocal.com/2019/06...e-crash-7-dead-route-2-volodoymyr-zhukovskyy/
Now we can condemn the truck driver. Jackass. https://www.ksdk.com/article/news/c...icide/63-a1e53c90-6861-48ab-af7e-36b1b8c3f15a

I will probably get slapped but it seems that our health care focus seems to be on the migrants from the south instead of taking care of our own. My wife and I comp oil changes for Vet's and first responders at our shop, hardship on us, no, not as much as on those who serve and have served and the golden family's that come to my shop that couldn't pay for their service with a thousand dollar bill if they wanted to.
First, thank you for supporting vets and responders, that is a great thing that you do! I would submit that the MEDIA focus is on healthcare for illegals (which in actuality they already have, ANYONE can be treated in an ER and cannot be turned away) Health insurance on the other hand, often confused by those who want it free, is a product designed to defray costs to individuals under the assumption that there are more healthy individuals than there are sick ones in any demographic. That concept used to work when 70 was OLD, now we live too long and have our lives extended by medicine past the point where our body would normally quit, all at a financial cost. Same problem with Social Security. Stopping here before stepping over the political line. Cheers, Doc
I was part of the health care industry for a lot of years and the last thing you want is the Govt involved...Mediscare, as we used to call it, is a mess from the industry side...I'll stop as well because I could go on and on....
Update on the Mass. license suspension. Looks like it took a large tragedy for them to get on the ball. https://www.yahoo.com/news/nearly-900-drivers-suspended-wake-204636369.html
Sad that it took a tragedy like that to get the people who were supposed to be doing their job off of their asses.
