Everything rear of the rear end pivot point has no impact on the structural integrity of the car. Aside from that, except for flexing stresses, all the driving forces pass through the sheet metal "frame" that runs fore and aft in a unibody just as a real frame does.

Well... it's probably a good thing it's a 4 cylinder car and not a GT.
