I have a 1976 Ranchero with a 351M that I need the door tag decoded on.

Body 97D
Color 5UDU
Trim CZB
Trans X
Axle Z
DSO 54

Body 97D=Ranchero 500
Color 5UDU, My books only go up to 1973 on the color codes
Trim CZB, My books only go up to 1973 on the color codes
Trans X = FMX Automatic Transmission
Axle Z=?
DSO=Omaha

Thanks for the info trikar.:) Now if anybody could help with the axle code that would be great. I really need to know the ratio for the axle.

There is no 'Z' axle code, there was a 2 which is a 2.75:1 Conventional Axle - and that is probably correct for that year of build.

Have you checked to see if the rear has a tag on the pumpkin? are you sure its a Z???

The axle code is a 2. I was in a hurry when i was writing the codes down. Thanks for the help everyone.:D
