I'm installing a 460 with a C6 trans in my '75 Ranchero. I see others doing similarly are told the Mark trany with it's long tail shaft won't work. Is it that the short shaft requires shortening of the driveshaft or for other reasons?

I gather from no replies nobody knows about long or short trany tail shafts. Thanks anyway.

I installed a C6 and 460 from a Mark 3 Lincoln in my 78 Ranchero, it has a 14" tail shaft , I did however have to have the driveshaft shortened to accomadate it, I think a 75 should be identical, I was also able to use the factory crossmember without any problems. Hope this helps you out

Ask Dan the Ranchero Man. I'm sure he knows. Just look around the board for his e-mail address. I have a '75 GT 460/C6 but it's original equipment.
