Hi there. I have a question that you guys may be able to answer, or might be able to forward along to someone that can. I have a 1958 Ford Ranch Wagon (Fairlane) and it currently has a tired 352 Y-block. I have a freshly rebuilt 351W and C6 tranny that I would like to swap in.. Do you know what it would take to do this? I'm assuming that there is enough room since that 352 is a larger motor, but being relatively inexperienced in swaps like this, I'm trying to get all of my ducks in a row, and gather as much info as possile. Thanks for any info you can provide, or please feel free to forward my contact info to someone you think may be able to help me. tktcolr@yahoo.com

Welcome!
I'm sure someone more familiar with the 58 model than myself will come along and give you the answers you are looking for. Do you have pictures of your Ranch Wagon that you can post? If you do and don't know how to post them, you can email them to me and I will post them for you.

IIRC: There is no real problem. The radiator will work, I believe I used 292/312. motor mounts, then there is the trans mount to be re located. Use the 351 exaust manifolds or headers for the exaust. I had the exaust pipes, mufflers and tailpipes custom bent and installed at a muffler shop. I used a one wire GM alternator, with the original wires sans the generator and regulator wires. If you are using an early dist, this will work. If not you will have to wire in the later module, etc.

If that 352 has the machined heads I would be interested in that motor as long as the block & heads and not cracked.
