Used to ride but hurt the back. I had a V65 Magna and a 750 Shadow. I know they ae not Harleys but they were fun and dependable and the V65 had some Nuts.

No prob Z All I need to know is type of engine, (evo, shovel, pan, or knuck, if its a sporster then I have to know the year.) all have a vent a feed a return, and a crank vent. its just the matter of the year, cause the oil tanks have baffels on them for the vent line, and puttin the return line there is def a bad thing....lol....
shoot me the e dude.
I get down to dallas all the time too. theres an aikido dojo there that I frequent, if this is a long term project, I can just swing in on one of my trips.

OOOOOOO.....A FROG ON A HOG ;) :D , and yes I'll jump from an airplane...I've never flown but I'll jump from the first one. You still can't make me, I dont wanna, and never will, on two wheels. I've lost alot of very good friends, to motorcycle accidents. You obviously never rode a bike in this town. People don't see motorcyles. I was driving home and a crotch rocket was under an Oldsmobile with the driver. Not a great influence. I have heard they are fun, but my chances are greater in the open sky than on the ground in this town on a motorcycle. :D :(

Actually your chances are better at surviving a headon collision on a Bike than in a car...

pretend you are sitting in your car right now reach out and touch the steering wheel, the windshield, the dashboard..everything you are GUARRANTEED to hit.. now sit on the chop with me and see the car swerve into your lane of traffic.. just simply pull yourself up and relax as you fly over the car and roll to a stop... now go back and perform the only medical skills you were given in the army the combat lifesaver skills... listen to the sirens as the ambulance shows up to keep the driver of the mustang alive till they get to the hospital.. he didnt make it... all you have is road rash on your arm to remind you forever of the other guys eyes when he looked up and actually saw you.
TRUE STORY...MINE...
I have just now retired from riding with a Club. I didnt even own a car for three years, just my chop, the ol carried the groceries sittin on the p pad for three years.. I have been t boned both sides, rearended, and a headon collision.. not bad for only being on a sled for 14 years, running about 1300 to 2000 miles a month.....
and airplanes..yep jumped em in FT. Benning GA. and doped-on-a-rope from the Hawk here at the Ft. Hood... not even close to as much fun as a bike thumpin in formation at 90mph+ all the way to victoria, or commanche, or wherever the pary is happnin. sorry but I guess its just a difference of being afraid to live because others didnt make it, and being afraid to make it to live...

dont mean to come off harsh or anything, I just feel very strong towards the populous that says a bike is dangerous.. it is If you dont know how to ride, or respect it.

Not at all. My brother has had some of the finest choppers ever built. He has built some very awesome bikes. I do alot of benefit show with bikers. I even did a poker run with the SOS up here. I don't want you to think that I'm against them. I'm not. They are not my personal preference. I have rode on bikes and yes they can be invigorating. But like I said before. Here it's like they don't see you and I have lost friends on Bikes. I don't personally care to own one. I admire those who do. Their are some that are beautiful pieces of art. I know what your feelings are...I have alot of biker friends. I don't have the intention of offending. I was just responding to other posts. I'm glad you have survived your accidents. Unfortunately, I know many who didn't. The Poker Run I did about a month ago...I was the only four wheeled vehicle that went. This particular group of GENTLEMEN I didn't know any of them. They were not sure if they wanted a hot rod to join but they were willing to take my money. Run what ya Brung...I did. Half way through the run They complimented me on my driving and invited me to do others as well as Sturgis. I won't go there, it's too far but I felt honored that they were wanting us to join them. I RESPECT them and all bikers on the road because like me, they have a life to live and people who care about them. I would never...never...jeopardize their well being or mine. I am not offended about your words. I'm glad to see someone passionate about their ride.
Wether it be a Subaru, a Ranchero, a Vette or a Chopper, they all need to be respected for the deadly vehicle they are. If everyone did that there would be fewer fatalities.

Good for YOU Frogleg..... :D :D

Before you join a club you might want to consider how much time you are giving up, and how much personal freedoms you honestly lose. As a hangaround its not too bad, but once ya prospect/patch you are expected to be at everything. you wont have a weekend to work on your own stuff cause there is always someone that needs you somewhere. and its not just the weekends either, on certain days of the week there will be meetings that you have to go to where all the other clubs are present.. dude all Im saying is seriously look at it before you jump. take an outside look at the time thats needed to invest and if the other members are talking about things they needed to do instead... as well as living your life by the Clubs rules. IE: you cant do such actions with your colors on, so leave them at home if you do...(now the world sees you as a hugh hipocrite cause its ok to be who you are without your colors but not with em...and the abrupt change in who you are to "become" what you are not so you fit in)
I enjoyed my time as A Clubber, but the price of what I gave up to be there was severe. all I am saying is to take a seroius look from the outside not from what they are telling you cause misery loves company. Before you jump in and find out the hard way if your cut to lose your personal freedoms or not.
This is not intended to be slanderous towards any Club or confederations or united organizations, this is simply one mans opinion of what I wished someone would have said to me Before I jumped in blind. No Disrespect intended, or shown. If you wish to discuss this post with me personally I will ride anywhere in Texas to do so. (Retired from, and still may have to go somewhere just because I choose to express my thoughts)I still will not leave Texas for anyreason.

Thanx Frogleg, I understand & know that you are sharing your experience and hope. As I said, IF the LORD is willing. That has become a very true statement in my life.I appreciate your Wisdom from experience that`s the BEST kind of lesson one can share "a wise man learns from the mistakes of others" "Thanx for sharing"... I`m gonna find time to share a kill story, one day.

smile.gif I can tell you anything with wheels is fun to ride or drive. I have had my share of bumps, bruises and breaks on my scooters but I just can't stay off them. I have 9 now but allways looking for more, mostly dirt/dual sport and an old 69 Honda 750 four and my GL1800 Goldwing. Scoots are cool and alot fun and if you live in Colorado you have some of the best riding around in the Rockies. Now for cars I am currently restoring/building a 65 Ranchero. A blast from my past. In high school (1969) I had a 64 Ranchero with a Chevy straight axle, Mustang buckets, electric windows with a warmed over 260 and a 4 speed. I loved that ride and want to do it all over again....well almost all. This is my trip to this site and hope to make many more during the rebuild.

Thanks, look forward to reading the posts. The 69 is fast, I put a big bore kit in it but it mainly sits and looks good. I ride the GL1800 and it will cut a mid 12 quarter which is plenty fast for me.

Still looking for a better Ranchero or Sprint 64-65
