Went to go see that with my Dad who was unlucky enough to be there. We left after the boat hit the beach. What was it three minutes? I thought it was bad but Dad was in tears. I couldn't take watching that.

As a corporal and radiator repairman, Dad didn't go in until day 12. He came out with a bronze star - must have been doing more than radiators as we know it.

Always nice to hear about our Loyal Veterans. My neighbor was in Church in Pearl Harbor when it was getting bombed. Everything around it was destroyed and the Church he was in was not touched. There is also another gentleman who I talk to often who was on the beach at Normandy. We had long talks about that and it brought him to tears, me also, he lost many many of his best friends that day. The courage these men had were truly amazing. If you know anybody who was in the Big One talk to them whenever you can because you will look at life a whole lot different. Most WWII vets are up there in age now. These guys are why we live the way we do Today in this country and a lot of people forget that. God Bless America

My grandfather was at pearl aboard the West Virginia when it was hit. He was wounded severly, but reinlisted! Finished the war in a sub as head torpedoman. He did not talk about it much. He finished his service as a highly decorated Chief Petty officer.
Last year I had the chance to go to Pearl Harbor and see the Arizona, which was docked beside the WVA. What an experience! I have never been in a place that held more reverence!
