I'm sure some stoner in Colorado would be inventive enough to figure it out and make some money at it.
I don't take a position on "abortion" one way or another, and I'm not going to tell any female anything on the matter - I neither support them nor by any action or deed do I condemn. With my wife we had four children, it takes two you know. Since we went empty nest we've sheltered 18 children awaiting placement, uncompensated - tell me about your philanthropy. We don't adopt due to health issues with the spouse and my being overseas for an extended tour of duty in the combat zone. The rest of your position is totally strawman and diversionary.
Who calls them that? Ask a woman who miscarried a child if she considers it a spontaneous abortion. Just be wearing a helmet and be ready to run like hell.
Doesn't make it a good choice of words, nor is it actually relevant to the discussion. Either way, Sean's right. But, at least you can act all innocent and get away with calling a chick fat if you ask her when the baby's due. The alternative is simply saying 'you are fat', which is insensitive.
Oh, good grief. Can't we listen more and yell less? Anyway, I'm a firm supporter of Roe v. Wade [you really want to give up your right to privacy, your fundamental right that the government leave you alone?]. And I also happen to think that abortion is a very serious problem. Those positions are not mutually exclusive. As I've said before, not one I'm willing to entrust to the tender mercies of our Benevolent Overlords, but one that I think is best left to the individual citizen to figure out according to the dictates of one's own conscience (and not according to the dictates of government mandates). And in the meantime abortion should be minimized by reducing the motives one would have for getting an abortion in the first place, doing stuff like making affordable childcare readily affordable for women who want to continue with their education or careers. I've yet to hear what folks who oppose abortion would do. Folks here saying that abortion is murder - so should it be criminalized in the same manner, with provisions for the death penalty in many states? Or a federal death penalty for abortion docs and women who get abortions? I really do hope that folks will just listen to what folks who oppose abortion have to say and not slam them for what they said. I'm very curious about this.
