Really thinking about a radio! The stock a.m. radio doesn't work and not sure I want to take it out, but I need to do something. It's hard to beat a good stereo system!!! Any suggestions go......
Have heard good things about these folks... https://www.classiccarstereos.com/ford-radios.html and another possibility...: https://www.joesclassiccarradio.com/conv.html *I haven't used either vendor.
I put in a kickass stereo system in my glove box, sounds incredible, took out the original box liner(saved it of course)built a new one to house the stereo system and a friend did all the wiring, threw in a security system at the same time
I am waiting for mine to get finished sent it to him around October 24th. Yea, I know it is a long time but I was up front with him that he can take his ol' sweet time and he is I'm in no hurry this way maybe the CEO/CFO will forget how much it cost.
Yes, it was pricey, but in my opinion way worth it. Buddy, when you talked to Richard did he say he had one on the shelf? I was going to buy one for my Chevy but according to the site he isn't accepting new work right now as he is swamped.
Yup, like cbolt said, way worth it. I've had him do both my Ranchero and my 64 Sprint. Absolutely great. Maybe pricey, but money well spent AND satisfying.
The '55 Star Chief I worked on many moons ago, I think the owner had them rebuild the car's receiver, amp and speaker; it was so well-done, it looked truly factory. I wondered back then if he had NOS parts and materials.
He didn't say anything about having one on the shelf, but I didn't ask either. He told me how much it would cost and how to pack it for shipping
When he did mine he didn't have a core either. I had to send him mine. Keep in mind the 67 is a one year only piece.
He used to have one from a 67 fairlane on his site as a video before I sent him mine. I don't know if it was a customers radio or one he did. Also, when I had mine done a few years ago the site had more features, one being where you could go and see what he had in stock and purchase it if you didn't have a core. My Chevy has no core and he seemed delighted I was going to purchase the one he had already done. Of course that was back in 2016 I think. Now if you come to the Southeastern Ranchero Roundup in March you can see and hear mine up close and personal.
Yup, I think that was mine around 2015. And, yes, when I had my Sprint radio done 2 years ago, there were more features available.
None of these will fit a 67 - the buttons protrude through a slot in the dash bezel - has to be from a 67 only. Just like Falcon with the deluxe dash, same thing.
When & were is this Southeastern Ranchero Roundup? I have never done the car show thing, but never say never!
