I noticed today that my ride height appears uneven, the left side sits about 1" lower than the right.

Does anyone know what could cause this? Leaf springs? Shocks? Ideally I would like the ride height on each side to be that of the right side, which sits the 1" higher.

    Here is the left rear:

    Couple things to check:
    Broken leaf spring(s)
    Oily shock (blown seals)

That can also be caused by one of the front springs being weaker than the other. Find a flat level surface, put some jackstands under the front eyes of the rear springs, then measure the front to see if it's square. Then do the opposite to check the rear.

Did this happen after switching the wheels? Might be a rear shackle is flipped.

I only noticed it after the wheels were changed, so it could have been there before!

Have a look at the rear springs. At the rear of the car, where the springs attach to the frame there is a pivot there called a shackle. Compare them side to side and see if there are in the same position and look the same. If they don't match, one may have settled into the wrong place and that could make your truck sit funny.

Or the bushing(s) on one shackle are worn, causing the shackle to 'catch' on the bracket. So, make sure you do a thorough inspection, look for any bushings where the rubber is coming apart or the bushing body is not centered around the bolt, the shocks, etc. Then do pmrphil's ride height check.

Haha, I weighed 425 a month ago. But Babe had the lean before I began driving her.
