Over winter been having a bit done to the body, oddly most was better than expected, with very localised rust.
Bed was a bit of a mess under the spray on lining but all ok now.

Sometimes I wish I was in the states, getting bits for fords here is tricky.
I am trying to find an intermediate shaft for the steering, and the only one I have found is in Mexico and won’t ship to UK!
Ah well, if it was easy it wouldn’t be fun (so they tell me)

There's an intermediate shaft in Mexico? Is it NOS? Or only used? I had to rebuild mine by finding a correct-sized fabric/rubber "biscuit joint," then CAREFULLY cut the riveted pieces apart with a cutoff wheel, and assemble it with stainless bolts and nuts.

Hi Snoopy, I am in the UK too, down in Darzet,
Your GT looks nice in black n white !
Did it come from that American car specialist in East Anglia,
I remember seeing a white one last year on ebay?

I’m curious as to why you need an intermediate steering shaft. The reason is I just completed replacing the “rag joint coupler” on my 74 (after procrastinating 15 years!). I can’t think of a reason to need to replace the intermediate (jack) shaft except the need for the new coupler, which is available from most auto parts retailers (it’s a Lares brand part). The replacement process is not a straight-forward R&R, but involves pulling the shaft from the car and making some bench modifications to it. It’s not an especially hard job but involves time laying in your back/side under the steering column to R&R the shaft. Then again, maybe your shaft is damaged, worn or just plain missing and can’t be used in which case I just wasted 5 minutes writing this…

i have had a new rag joint for about 10 years now. one day i will fit it but as it passes the MOT it can't be that bad.
MOT. UK annual safety inspection. oddly not compulsory on vehicles over 40 years old. if any one can make sense of that please let me know.
to have less rust than expected Snoopy's Ranchero can not have been in the UK for long.
