Hi to everybody. I am a new member in the forum and I live in germany. I would like to show you some pics of my ranchero.
I bought the car in the early nineties on a holyday trip sowewhere in oregon. The car was in very bad shape and back in germany the car was runing only 2 weeks before the engine died. So i decided to restore it.
After stripping down everything I saw the whole degree of damage. So I started rebuilding the engine, transmission, rear end and everything from the technical site.
The frame and the chassis suspention was powdercoated. After sandblasting and cleaning the car body I could not find the time to continue the work on the sheet metall and I made a brake.
2 years ago I started again with the restauration.and the goal ist o bring it back to the road in 2015.

Attached some pictures from the beginng of the restauration.

    Looks like a great project.
Are their floor pans available for the '58?

This is what I found under the side trim. Nearly 0,4 inches thick filler. 20140614_151438.jpg

After hours and more hours of welding I decided to assemble the car just to make sure that everything will be fit perfect.

Wonderful work! Where did you get the panels or did you have to make them yourself?

Great progress! I am afraid that I have several thick patches of filler as well. I am terrified to start on the body work. :(
