That's awesome, I dislike that not a lot of kids take advantage of that though. If we had something like that here I would be all over it.
Wow..... That's a real nice car you got, Kid ! Always nice to hear that younger people are still interested in working on older cars. Color combo is superb, and interior looks awesome for it's age. Hope to find in the near future also one as good looking as yours.... Good luck with it, and drive safely Greets from Belgium Steven
Just to give an update on the car I just got the exhaust system done on it. Kept the dual exhaust in the end and put in some glass boxes to boot. It sounds really good when you're going down the road, and it sounds like a beast when you're at a red light sitting there. Gonna go get some tips for it tomorrow and I'll throw up a picture.
The part of it that took me the most time was figuring out what I wanted, putting it on and getting it together was fairly fast and simple.
First one shows new exhaust pipes put in and the tips on em', then the next one shows a bad thing that happened. I was driving and the thing fell off and I ran it over. But one is on the way to replace it.
That happened to me too I just discovered and joined this forum today. I also have a 78 that is the same color as yours. I opted for a solid brown stripe below when I had it repainted 9 years ago. My front turn signal came apart last year and I never realized it until much later. Ebay helped me replace it. I know all about small town Nebraska, having grown up in Central City (30 years ago). I am VERY VERY impressed with what you have done! At your age I was working part time at the local Ford dealer so it's (very) remotely possible I helped prep your Ranchero when it was new. I like what you did with the back glass, yes, you will always have it called an 'El Camino'. but at least you are making a bold statement to the contrary. I recently had some one pull up beside me at an intersection just so they could see the logo on the side to know what it was called. He knew it wasn't an El Camino, but couldn't recall what Ford had called them (he was in an Edge). Keep up the good work!
I like the colors, what can I say? Fearless that is pretty cool, it would be interesting if it was one you worked on. If you need anything give a message, I'm pretty sure we can work off of each other on the chero's. k4kak also has one and he is full of information, along with most of the people around this forum.
Not much. You shouldn't have to worry about yours falling off. The guy who had it before me and told me he had replaced that before. He did a bad glue job that shouldn't even be attempted to hold something on a car.
