Afternoon all, getting ready to pull the 390 to replace crankshaft and bearings, gonna paint the engine while it’s out,it’s currently light bluish,my mechanic believes the color is wrong and it should be a darker blue?want to get it right the first time, any info would be appreciated,as always thanks in advance for any help you can give me and merry Christmas!
In my area the parts houses have a Ford Dark Blue ceramic by Dupli Color brand. It sprays easily and coats well. In cooler weather increase the time allowed for it to completely dry. When dry, the ceramics are very durable. I like to use DupliColor green etching primer on the bare metal before spraying the ceramic top coat.
