I need a engine vacuum schematic for a 78 T-bird with a 400 cid/C6 transmission. If anyone here knows where I can get one please e-mail me at rancherodan@Comcast.net Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, my '78 Chilton book has no vacuum diagrams. I usually hit up the local library for them. But perhaps I can help...what are you trying to repair/hook up/replace?

I'm checking with my T-bird guy, I'll let you know if he has something.

The guy is going to dig out the manual and take a picture of the schematic. He just got back from China so he said he'll grab it as soon as he can.

Dan: The 1978 Electrical & Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual is the best reference. I have a spare, not in mint condition but excellent for a shop copy. Contact me through the site if you're interested.

Thanks I will keep you posted. We need something that shows the color coded vacuum lines.

Thanks a bunch. This should help a lot. I have been so busy I did not look at it closely. Checked it out today and it is perfect!

Thank you, I received and downloaded your emails. At first glance, I have to confirm something.

Right on thank you! tonyblust@gmail.com Would you also happen to know what kind of transmission fluid I should use? I am replacing the trans filter this weekend and I don't want to kill my car.

Unless you have an early-Eighties or later trans, you use Type F/Type FA. That should be stamped into the trans dipstick along with the 'hot in Park' instruction.
