    Hi all, new to the forum! i recently bought this 78 ranchero GT from a 80 year old guy, he bought it brand new. He owned his own body shop and this was the shop truck for many years. he customized it with a t-bird front end, custom tailights, and a 1970 429 thunderjet engine. its been fun!

    Very interesting taillights, are those headlight covers tinted plexiglass?

    Howzit Pete,
    Good to finally see your Ranchero, I'm in the middle of a '79 restomod, and can't wait to get the 429 installed!
    Like you, I came over to this forum a short while ago.....Awesome forum for Rancheros...

    Welcome to the board, Ramair. I'd like to hear anything you're willing to tell us about those taillights.

    Welcome!

    Nice ride!

    I think those tailights are out of a 1980's Ford LTD Squire Wagon. Anybody else got a guess?

    I bet that Ranchero moves GREAT with a 1970 429!

    Welcome and good luck!

    yea, this is my 'work truck' . i have a 73 torino and a 71 cobra also, sorry guys, they get garaged. This ranchero, hauls lumber from lowes, hauls my boat around, takes trips to the junkyard, and guards my lawn.

    the tailights are from a c-vic wagon, and the headlight covers are some sort of smoked plexi.

    ++++++++++

    Thanks for the scoop. In the pic they looked like they might be custom LED taillights of some sort, what I was hoping to hear about.

    Rear has a vague Camino look to it, dunno why. I would have guessed LTD wagon tails too, oh well. I dig the bird clip.
