Awesome work, those valve covers look somewhat familiar.....
Good to see you back in the game Victor! Man, that's a good looking dog.
Mine is all assembled as well.
I guesss when I get back home for any amount of time I should
take pics of it as well.
Need to paint it.
Won't be home for a couple more weeks----so it will be at least that long
before I get the engine outta Old BLue.
Also found out I know a guy that knows the BW T-10.
Good for me---that car has fallen out of second gear since I
was about 10 years old.
My uncle just wne tfrom 1st to 3rd.
Well. It's been awhile. I will post some pics later. So far we have completely cut out the bed floor of the truck. Cut steel to size welded and seam sealed. Sprayed bedliner. Gutted the interior. Had it media blasted. Primed it and painted. Painted the jams of truck. Again. I'll get pics up later. Working a lot and just finished moving.
ok Here are the pics! bed guted. and fitted with new metal then lined. interior gutted media blasted then painted. floor pans spot welded and sprayed with under coating. and for the topper....... CHERO PAINTED!
inside doors jams and tail gate inside and jams were blasted also.
there ya have it. I'll get more pics the straightness of the chero and shine of paint later. Sorry about the wait. Hope it was worth it. I know it is for me. And I still have a ways to go.
Pure awesome, just pure awesome.
Hope to see that thing out and about in the near future.
My engine is still sitting on a stand at the shop.
Kinda looking for someone that knows the BW T-10.
Want to get the trans fixed before I put the engine in.
Keeps popping out of 2nd----and has done this since for over 40 years.
Thanks! I still have some work ahead. Reassemble the interior. Rebuild trans. Brakes suspension. My block is sitting on stand also. I got everything to finish it though.
What was the decision for just putting sheetmetal down in the bed? Do you have any concerns with it oil canning?
Your bed looked in much better shape then mine.
Do you still have the sheetmetal you cut out?
Seeing those pics with the bed floor removed reminds me of one of my fantasies -- a mid-engine Ranchero. Just drop the entire subframe from a late-model front-drive car into that space. You'd probably need a Megasquirt or similar to run the EFI.
Hardly anybody uses a Ranchero to haul stuff -- and with a tonneau cover you couldn't tell the motor was back there.
I went with the sheet metal because the bed really was in bad shape . Large holes in some places and small in others. The old metal was starting to fall through in a lot of places. So we got some fairly thick steel and welded it in. I'm not worried about oil canning because I have some square tubeing place in the hole to reinforce the steel for the bed. I'll grab pics of it when I can.
Thanks for the info.
I am trying to make my bed appear factory and it is too tough to pull off this may be a good option.
Hey everyone. Sorry I have not been on in a while. Lots happening. We had to sell the shop. Sad but necessary. on a better note found a new job, got into a new house and my girl and I have our first kiddo on the way. so with all these things going on had to set the 66 on the back burner. Still plan to get her up and going just gonna be slow and probably wont start until the summer time.
I'll try to be on more often. Again sorry for the disappearance and looking forward to talking with everyone again!
Here she sleeps..
