One of my friend's parents had a '69 Eldo, and it had thick doors, plus five of us fit in the back seat without getting squished. But we'd squish each other on the corners anyway.

Car widths haven't change much, because road lane widths haven't changed much. Me thinks you were thinner back then;)

Well, yeah. This was '72, and I was 7. So were my friends Dale and Stephen, then add in my sister (10) and older brother (11). The car was Dale's dad's car.

I used to ride on the package tray, back window, of my Mom's Delmont 88. If I somehow managed to fit my fat ass up in there now, you'd have to remove the glass to get me out.

I did the same thing with our '66 Galaxie 500, along with my Hot Wheels cars. If I climbed up there now, I'd bust the window before I got stuck in the first place.

As promised, the current Cobo Hall pic from (about) the same spot. Not much has changed. Just everything.

Be careful...that isn't the only thing "SHOW ME" stands for.

The angle is a little different I guess. Come on, what's the trick?

Maybe the new brick building with the groovy facade next the old stone building to the right of the frame for one thing... about the same elevation but different structures completely. Or the high rise in the back, right. A bunch of other things. And the dude on the sidewalk isn't there now:p and someone took out the guard rail in the middle of the walk on the left... (probably took out the dude walking as well...) :p :p

Notice most of the car tires have "white walls". Don't see those much nowadays, but was pretty much the style back in the day.

Poor FF, can't see the forest for the trees.
This isn't a street pic. Found it on Torino group Facebook page. Never seen so many 70-71's in one spot before, other than the Bash on the Beach Show.

Very sad. I get so mad at guys who buy the f%&k out of cars, then they park them in fields and trees, never do a damned thing to them, and get incensed if you dare to ask if any parts are for sale, let alone a whole car.
