It would be nice if you could just start typing in the quick reply instead of having to hit the button.

Well, his suggestion has nothing to do with what you connect to the interwebby with.

He is just bragging to make us DSL users feel bad.
I have to admit though, that I do not understand the original suggestion.
Is he trying to save his index finger for a more important task? Or is he getting arthritis in the thumb he uses on the track ball?
He could always write a macro, but it would still be locate and click.
Has a site feedback thread ever been relocated to whack land?
Are we opening a new frontier at Ranchero.us?

Not to my knowledge but you are the expert there?

It is something simple that most sites have already done. There a reason it called quick reply you just type. Right now you press a button to reply or quick reply not much difference.

My post had nothing to do with your original post.
The thread was heading off in it's own direction, and that was what I was commenting on.
Personally, I do not understand the problem as it seems to boil down to an issue of just one extra click of the mouse. I so believe, however, that if you go to the trouble to write or acquire the software to incorporate what you want that the site owners would use it unless it violated current software use agreements or was detrimental in some way.:)

I know what he's talking about. In some forums you can simply type into the quick reply box, but here you have to enable it first. I don't know why everyone is giving him grief for being lazy. I like to save keystrokes wherever possible myself. In fact,
