I'm needing to put a recovery tank on my radiator in the 64. I have a new aluminum radiatior. I'm wanting to use one of them long cylinder type tanks that attaches to the side. My question is what size of tank? And if you wouldn't mind explain the reason for the size of tank. If it really matters. Thanks!!

Hell, when I got my '74 Squire, I just took a 1-gallon coolant jug, cut a hole next to the neck opposite of the handle, pulled the drain hose off the side of the radiator and cut it to length to go into the bottom of the bottle, filled it 1/3rd of the way up, and went from there. Cost only labor and worked well.

Back in high school I drove a 63 buick special for a week using a 2.5 gallon jug filled with gas and a plastic line. I controlled the fuel with a fold in the tube.
Who says you can't drive with a broken float bowl?

Well when I was in HS we'd take the coolant tank off to save weight.... ;)

And the modified aluminum yard chair for a drivers seat?
There was a guy at my HS that stripped so much out of his 66 mustang that it weighed just a hair over 2000 lbs. That was the seat he used.

I could do that. However I'd like something a bit more.... let's say nice looking. Need one for the drag strip. Stupid rules

The previous owner used a thin orange drink plastic bottle like you would find at a 7/11 and shoved the hose through an irregular hole in the cap. He stuffed another plastic bottle next to it to keep the other bottle from moving around. I wanted something better so I used this.

NHRA rules require at least 1 quart capacity, and if you need more than that, you probably need new head gaskets

Hmmmm, a really sweet taste to that Heinie. Friend of mine in high school had a Rainier Beer tap handle for his Power Wagon's shifter. He was the police chief's son.

Here is a couple of shots of the expansion tank I got. Looks pretty good. Its one U.S. quart. Pay no attention to that wiring mess I have. Im trying to get the old regulator our of there. Tried today but then the head lights didn't come on. So I just put it back. Must run a ground thru it or something. Help if you can.
