I just got a great deal on some very fresh Scored some GT40P heads for my 289. My 289 is stock but i did upgrade to a edelbrock performer intake and avs2 500 cfm carb. Also has long tube headers which i really will hope work with the new heads. I guess my question is has anyone used this and what was your experience. Thanks for the input.

Headers for the "P" heads are not the same as "regular" heads - the plug is in a different location, so normal headers "cover" the plug hole. They will bolt on, but you can't put plugs in them - won't run well that way. :(

I got the same heads. I went with a flange ffrom Advance Auto and long tubes and it fits fine no issues with plugs or wires.

What kind of flange - an adapter flange? Or are they headers made to fit the "P" series heads?
