A factory '76 T-bird 460 oil pan has an 8 1/4" deep front sump, the oil pan gasket itself gives an additional 1/8" +/- of measured depth.

No I'm not sure, the pan came from Jegs and the motor mounts from Rock Auto.
Hay guys, thanks for all the input. I ordered a pair of motor mounts from summit last night for mark v.
They have the same part # as BB in a 73 ranchero.

I believe it's the shallower end that's touching the crossmember - how deep is it there, and is it flat or tapered?

I have yet to see correctly fitting aftermarket engine mounts. Crites was close, still not correct as per factory mounts though.

It does taper from the front sump towards the rear, the rear of the oil pan's front sump is within an 1.5" of the engine cross member(My application anyhow). I'd say he has the wrong engine mounts, until FACTORY mounts are sourced, I believe there will be continued issues.

It's both ends, but I think if the mounts were taller it would clear if I ground the front surface of the cross member. I think it needs to be an inch taller to clear or raise the rear of the trans. I use the factory cross member with a standard mount. Thanks for everyone helping me out.

I had a similar problem in my '71 ... please check your rear mount (where the trans tailshaft mounts). If you remove that mount, it has square holes where it mounts to the 'frame' -- my 302 used the wrong mount holes, whomever mounted the engine in the first place did it wrong to avoid the driveshaft length problem. You could possibly mount the engine farther back?

The one Steven and I installed in his '77 came off Amazon, $80. I'll see if I can find the linky for it.

Thanks to all. I checked with Amazon but speedway does not ship here. I think I will try speedway direct. See if they will. Thanks again.

I've got a pan coming from speedway, it should be by Monday, if I'm lucky. I guess I've got all winter so it doesn't matter I just want to get it out of the shop so I can get back to the tables that I started 3 yrs ago. Thanks Leo.
