I just purchased a 1959 Ranchero. It is SN C9RF109898. It currently has a 390. Which engine did it originally have? Its Trans code is C. Which Transmission did it originally come with? Most important, It has Axle code 2. What is the rear axle ratio?

I am about to purchase what is believed to be a 1971 ranchero but if you could decode this for me I would greatly appreciate it! 1A48F28494 I need it as quickly as possible because the guy that owns the salvage yard is going to start crushing cars within the next month!!!

    Hey Billy,

To help you update your decode list. I looked at a '71 today with a 46 body code. Did some searching and found it's a '71 ONLY, Plain Jane Ranchero, 302 2bl.

    Body Series Code 46

Body Series Code 46 is the designation for the base model Ranchero in 1970 and 1971, and that number is used in the VIN. The Body Type is 66A which is used to differentiate part applications unique to the base model.
