Howdy all...found your site by accident yesterday while looking for VIN decoders...anyway just had to join in on the fun! I would have never guessed there was a site just for us 'Chero owners. I aquired mine about 3 years ago from a guy in Acworth, GA. for 600.00!...and drove it to my shop! I've been puttin time and $$$'s in when I can find them since I'm new at this site so I'm going to try and post some pics of her. Warren O. Dallas,GA. http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss188/sidewayzinc/72 ranchero resto 09/7.jpg http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss188/sidewayzinc/72 ranchero resto 09/12.jpg http://s574.photobucket.com/albums/ss188/sidewayzinc/72 rancheros heart/ http://s574.photobucket.com/albums/ss188/sidewayzinc/72 Ranchero with her new heart/
Nice find! I would have bought it. Maybe one of the mods can fixup your links -- each has an extra "http://" on the front.
Thanx Guys! The beuty of her being a GA. car all of her life...(made in ATL.)...is the ONLY rust I found on her was a quarter size hole in the bed!...easy fix!
the only other problem was someone did some absolutely attrociouse body work on her before...They just filled in dents w/bondo...there must have been a gallon on her! I chizeled and sanded on her for a month to get that crap off of her, and 95% of the dents I was able to just "pop" out or use a slide hammer. I've actually have it ready for paint, but haven't decided on a color...I LOVE the color of Sarah's 72!...and since mine was originally red to begin with....
Mine is a AZ car, but I found the floor has rust holes as well as the bottom rear corners of both doors. They all have their share of surprises though, don't they
Hey Paul, That they do! they also did some "creative wireing to the harness...took me while to figure that out!... the only thing I could'nt salvage was the tail gate...mine lookes almost just like youres!...it's even bashed in in the exact same spot! luckily the bumper was somehow missed I'll look around the site for a tailgate
Thank you! I knew it was red, but not what shade or name...I still like Sarah's color ,although Dan's blue is georgeouse too!
Thank you Warren and yes its nice to see another 72. Beware... these boys are being nice right now... but they secretly don't like the 72's LOL Red is painted 96 Ford Laser RED Pearl... with raspberry pearl instead of gold just in case you wanted to know You have a great start there. My question is.... what where who and did you put that motor in your avatar picture in something? That sure is a beautiful piece of machinery right there... I'm just sayin'
hey Sarah I pulled it,cleaned it, built it ,and put it back in with a fresh "factory" shift kit in the FMX myself...and that's what's in the Chero! The pic of the Firebird is BEFORE I started the resto....I had a good canvas to work with Here's what she looks like today
Welcome to the crazy site, as they say a lot here dosn't like the 72, but no vorries they are just envious Looks like you have a nice one there and the firebird is nice, has a friend who had a cab, very nice My 72 "S" code has no rust at all and just a few small dents, and only 3 small dents in the bed so i'm very happy. But I payed 6000$ for it so you did a very good buy.
