Is there anyway to tell the difference between a 70 and a 71?were they one and the same?

Looks like someone forgot to latch the ball on a trailer it towed.

My question was if there was a design difference between the 1970 and 1971 that would make it obvious to tell the difference between the years

I would call it a '70 GT. A '71 does not have the "Chevrons" on the side but it would have ribbed rocker moldings but no moldings on the '70. Can't see the center of the grill, but the '70 has the round grill badge and the '71 has the split grill with the vertical rectangle badge. Either would say GT if they if all was proper. The bodies, fenders, doors, hoods, glass interchange, the tailgate shell is good from '66 to '71. There are other unique equipment and trim differences between the two as well. Not sure when they started the hideaway grills, that might be a '71 thing.

No, it was on a different thread. I should have been more specific, my fault.
