Based on your VIN, yes they did. The Ford Master Parts Catalog (MPC) shows the body series 29 as Sedan Delivery (Body Series 78A) and also Custom Ranchero (two trim levels (identified as 66B and 66C). Check the data plate for body 78A. It looks like, per the MPC, that 1966 was the last year of Sedan Delivery manufacture, and the Ranchero line moved to the Fairlane/Torino class car in 1967, and sedan delivery has no call out or matching codes beginning in 1967.

That body code translates to a Custom Ranchero - and it may be how Sedan Delivery were produced in '66.

Yes, and a set of PDF on CD may pop up in ebay from a google search. FWIW, there are only about 6 parts per side unique to a Sedan Delivery from a Falcon Wagon roof/Ranchero - the sides in place of the windows and the supporting braces in place of fixed glass/windows, and they are the same '65 and '66.

I have a 7A48H I am trying to match the Paint on, it is kind of a Cranberry dark red, I don't really care about the decals, but it would be nice to be able to buy them somewhere premade, I am wanting to repaint the car the original color, I love that red, but when I bought it I guess they had done some respray on it and the color doews not quite match, I cannot read my door sticker it is faded out. I have the vin I can get it if I need to, but Where in the vin would it say the Paint color code for it or would it. It is a 1977 Ford Ranchero GT, has a 351 Windsor, 5.8 Liter V8

The paint code is not in the VIN. The paint code is only on the driver door jamb sticker. If you have a auto paint store or a body shop that still has older paint books you can get the code by matching a paint chip from the book to a place that still has good paint. We still have our books back to the mid fifties, crash books too.. Paint stores can take a picture with a computer and get something real close and tint from there but will be a clear coat formula. My 77 Dupont book shows a code 2M dark red non metallic and the 78 page shows a code 81 Russet Metallic along with the 2M dark red. Occasionally a mid year color is not with it's year because the color chip pages are done at the beginning of the model year. The problem is getting a formula for a color that uses obsolete paint types, nobody has the paint to mix it.

Not only that, but if you can find the broadcast sheet, it will have the paint and interior codes.
