Oh yeah Gizzy ( or Gisbourne ) is a place on the east coast of New Zealand. It's the first place in the world to see the light of the new day as it's right next to the date line. Another special place. We have a lot of them.
We just have to be careful they don't take the p!$$ to us and snicker between themselves. https://www.brenontheroad.com/travellers-guide-new-zealand-slang/
fomoco , I live in Gisborne , East coast North Island -- first city in the world to see the sun on a new day. World class surf and Arboretum .Also the first place Cook landed when he discovered NZ.
That's a great explanation of the kiwi slang. Although it is kind of one eyed from a geographical sense. Our slang has different dialects as you travel the country and also the words change meaning around some parts.
Denis. My wife's uncle lives in Gisbourne his name is Keith Sherrad. He's a pom and about 70 odd. Used to get around in a light blue VW Combi or a gold wing Honda.
Haven't come across him -- I know a few of the Ulysses Club members -- I will keep an ear out. Denis.
History lessons and family lineage is always a nice change, thanks for the info y'all, regional lingo is good to.
No worries bro. Sweet as. Lol. I hardly ever say bro. I say sweet as a lot. Any way rancheros are cool but we all know this. If you ever need to sell an old ford in this country fast you can paint it Matt black and one of the gangs will buy it. It's a proven theory. I've been surrounded by the mongrel mob in a gas station one night back in the early 90s and 3 van loads of mobsters turned up. Half of them went into the store and the other half surrounded my car. We got in and easily drove away with no problem at all as they respect all old ford owners. Strange but true. I've actually met this girl called Fairlane.
No I took a short video of the wild boat ride I had coming home last night but I can't seem to link it. I'll try again soon. It was a crazy windy storm. Coming from the south east it's the same as your northern hemisphere northerlies. Cold ice cap wind gusting to 80 knots with big waves hammering the front of the boat. We were going through waves at times. Fortunately the cabin is enclosed. Fun fun fun.
Mr Hands is either the most, or the second most infamous video ever posted to the internet. It is rather hard to find, and possession of the video is a crime in most of the world. It involves a guy getting killed by an act of beastiality.
