Made some changes today on the system hopefully they work. I read around the VBulletin boards and most said it has taken care of all the spam problems. There will be at times some user that slips through the cracks but this should do it.

Hopefully it blocks all posts and PM's from the username Foristell Ford.

Yes, if you get an email from any of the Administrators or Moderators it will come from us as our user names, there won't be any emails or PMs from the site that uses a generic administrator or moderator as a name in the "from" line.

In this instance, no - of the IPs, one was from Russia, the other the Ukraine. And several have come in from China, and other asian nations. We've had quite a few that used the PM feature to spam, the good news is they tended to spam inactive members as much as active ones. Most we have caught before they got very far. Something had me off site for a few days and that may have allowed a little more time for the spams to happen. Marauder hasn't looked in on the site in quite a while now.

Uh, must we go down this path? We know where this will go and the ending won't be very satisfying for anyone.

Doesn't everybody know how to spoof IPs?

No, please enlighten us, ribald. Or should I say, Marauder?

It is a bit more than a quick paragraph can cover, a quick search on the net and a couple hours of your time, and you will have a fair handle on it.

That said, a determined person can even track the source of something with a spoofed IP.

I have the attention span of a crack baby. That said, I don't have the patience for a two hour internet search to learn how to spoof people. That said, I have no desire or reason to do so either. And I don't think you are Marauder, either. Your posts are, on average, six paragraphs shorter than his.

This isn't helpful folks. This was all supposed to be left behind when it was left there. Do I need to get into bezerk mode to stop this or will ya'll take the hint?

The IPs used by Marauder and FF aren't the same. The traces through the networks are not the same. This needs to die now. That is all.
