I found this on the Hemmings website for almost $20K: https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/ford/pinto/2140730.html?refer=blog
They had me at 302, and I wouldn't kick it out of my driveway, but if I were to go in that direction I would go for a wagon.
They made it on where own? Regardless, it is Ok, but not $20K OK. Maybe $8 or $9K OK. The body work is decent, but much of the interior changes are amateurish, like the piece of aluminum shifter cover, and the plywood back seat.
With that review, I take it that that you liked it. I agree about the price though, you never get out what you put in, there is going to be alot of Ranchero coffins out there.
It's called a Pinchero in the Pinto world. It's not too bad. The dealer is asking for stupid money though. The interior is definitely a weak spot. Extremely so for that kind of money. And it did start life out as a wagon. Almost all Pincheros do. I'd say all, but then someone will dredge up one someone did that wasn't a wagon. The front suspension could use a good cleaning, surprised (ok, not really) that the dealer shows pictures of it with that much grease and grime. And I doubt if that car is driven much, especially in bad weather. The side panels in the bed are the stock plastic Pinto wagon panels, and that wooden box probably doesn't like water too much. BTW, I own a 74 wagon project and a 79 hatch fully caged project, just in case anyone is wondering. Russ
