Man, this guy has been trying to sell this one for almost a year now. I think it looks real nice. S'pose most of the guys here won't like it for not looking "stock". http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/1814073527.html
Noticed in the pic's of that 73 that it looks like the seller has painted the bed trim etc. Anyone else done this. Can't say I am for or against, it does not look bad though
wow! I like where he went with that one..but the market just isnt there for our cars, especially the later larger examples. Hmmm really like what he did with the headlight surround....hmmmm I painted my bed trim because it looked awful and was wavy..and the good stuff is $$$$$$$$$$ used bed coating to texture it in a late model F150 kinda way.
blacked out trim looks good.... But blacked out trim. a wood steering weel and aftermarket rims dose not make it a resto-mod . $11k with missing chrome and screws in the insert on the door panels Looks like a nice $5000 truck after you clean up and detail the motor More details: Engine rebuild was done about 4500 miles ago. Transmission rebuild was done less than 1000 miles ago. - Paint done 9 months ago with PPG Silver Metallic Paint ($3800). - New Cobra style woodgrain steering wheel. - New Sony stereo system, cd with ipod connect, and Bose speakers (awesome sound). - American Racing Torq Thrust wheels with brand new tires one but ulgy motor for 4500 miles?????????? . American Racing Torq Thrust wheels with brand new tires ???????????? funny looking TT Wheels
He has gone as low as $3,000. Also I doubt the paint was done 8 months ago, because I have been seeing it on craigslist for at least a year.
Bill (RancheroUSA) had his bed trim powder coated on his '74 (I think it was a '74). Looked good. That might be an answer to someone that wants to black out or color their trim, or if someone wanted to come up with a different look while dealing with with worn through anodizing. I've got a couple of sets of bed trim that the anodized aluminum is worn off to the base aluminum - they will buff out but will require a ton of maintenance to keep looking sharp. Powder coating them would be one answer to reduce the maintenance for certain. Not a bad look on a custom car.
This Ranchero looks really good, but the price is too high. I have seen it on CL for a long time too with many prices as well. This is what I would consider a mild custom not a resto-mod. C'mon don't you have to at least install a modern suspension, motor, and/or transmission to be a resto-mod? Otherwise it's just a restoration with a modern paint job isn't it? I agree with y'all, the engine is way too dirty for having 4500 miles. But at least the air filter looks freshly painted. Huh, I wonder if the iphone sitting on the hump is part of the deal, it should be at that price.
It's not likely to sell for that much, but I think the blacked-out trim looks good with that paint color.
he's back....at 9500 usd http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/1887869453.html and it's on Ebay also
Run Far away from this one..first claims motor was rebuilt less than 4500 in june now he shows a receit from july for a long block
