    VIN 6K290145717
    6=Model year of production,1966
    K=Assmbly Plant,Kansas City
    29=Body style code,My books do not cover that
    year's body code for VIN
    O=Engine code, I show an engine code for the 62
    model year as bing a 390, I am not 100% sure
    that is the same for '66
    145717=Unit number of production at that Assembly
    plant for that year.
    Door data plate code
    Body 66B=Body type, Custom Ranchero
    Color T=Body color,Red
    Trim 45=Interior trim, My books don't go back far
    enough to cover that code color.
    Date 03M=Production date 3rd day of December.
    Axle 1=Rear Axle Ratio 3.0:1
    Trans 6=Trannsmission code,C4 Automatic3 speed
    Dual Range .
    If the Data plate has a black background identifies a unit painted with M32J(Acrylic)Enamel
    (Solid color Unit or the lower Body Color when Unit is two toned).
    If the Data plate has a gray background it identifies a Unit painted with M30J(Non-Acrylic)Enamel. (Solid Color Unit or the lower body color when unit is two toned).

    I'm sure someone with the engine codes for that year will Verify what it is for you.

    I was just informed from a very reliable source that there was no engine code "O" for 1966. "C" would be the correct code for a 289 2V in 1966.
