My Ranchero frequently belches and leaks gas from the filler cap/neck for several minutes after I fill the tank. I suspect I have a "venting" issue. If anyone could educate me about this, I would appreciate it.

Common issue on these cars, even through the last year they were made. Making certain that your vent is clear and working properly helps. I suspect all of us feel your pain!

Installing an unleaded adapter in the filler neck helps a lot. Without one the tank tends to overfill because the nozzle is at the wrong angle in the filler neck.

I have been using leaded gas although I have been told any gas 91 octane or higher is okay. Upon close inspection it looks as if my vent hose is terminating into a fitting that is a plug not a vent????? I better have another beer and take another look-see.
