Is this the correct manual transmission

    Some had column shifters, some had floor shifters. For some reason, though, that one doesn't look right.

    I looked up some photos on Google, and yeah, this definitely isn't right. The original was much more bare bones. By some accident, photos of '61 to '63 Thunderbird interior popped up, and it does appear to resemble that most closely.

    I stand corrected, Falcon Cheros never had floor shifters, so this one's definitely not right.

    The more I learn, the more I think this is a Frankenstein that has had many cooks stirring the pot. I am going to be oh so careful before biting. I am not really a fan of these cute little add-on's.

    looks like a 3 spd Bet the sfifter was moved from the column to the floor..

    You were absolutely correct Mr. Alfred. Kind of a cheezy fix that did nothing to endear me to this pile. Full report under "Is this price reasonable?" Answer: NOT.

    my 70 has the shifter moved to the floor from the column.. doesnt bother me at all..was moved to the floor when headers were installed.Column linkage wont work with long tubes I believe

    Two random photos, one of steering column, the other of the bird's nest of loose wires hanging down. He will need to locate a buyer with the time, expertise, and money to restore this '61 Ranchero. Out of my wheel house.
