What was with the long tail section adapter?
yes it was
Was that meant to fit a long tail Lincoln C-6 or a 4x4 truck with a divorced transfer case ?
2 wheel drive truck or car with 14in tail shaft C6 sorry John miss read your post
I want one for my chero, but the paint job told me it very likely needed rebuilt, then add getting the proper adapter, didn't look like the effort would be worth the few hundred dollars saved over buying a new one.
Not sure why you thought that was a paint job. It was not painted that was just how clean the aluminum was. the fluid was cherry red also.
new one for short C6 $3300 so that's about a $2000 dollar difference

Even the nuts?
They must have gone up quite a bit in price. That was around $2800 last time I looked.
Nope no paint
Sorry it was 3300 not 3500
If I run across another one I will let you know
For me, overdrive would never be worth $3,000. Unless I had money to burn.
With the pony's your running, would one of those even survive.
They were often in diesel trucks, so probably.
I have seen them on cars with a lot more HP than I have and they hold up. The claim is that they hold up to over 1000HP, if I toss a blower on the rig i guess I could find out.
If you do take a video, if it comes unwound and the drive shaft goes through your bed tank it should be interesting viewing.
My drive shaft is properly restrained, but yes, breaking things just goes with the territory.
Almost have space to get more work done on it. Would be nice to have it painted.
