    If the money is an issue I would not go that deep into the motor for what is basically an inspection. Maybe do a compression or even better a leak down test for starters. You can always pull one or two caps out of the bottom end to get a look at he bearings.

    In order to swap this 5.0 into the 72 oil pan and timing cover have to be removed.Iam replacing heads and upper and lower intakes with upgraded units.
    At this point ill remove pistons and crank.Thinking with glass half full,all will be good.Have plenty time,money not so much.
    IF crank and bore are within specs I will reinstall with new bearings after clean up.Wont really know till I mic parts. Heads will eat up most of budget.

    so hows the shop coming long ? getting everything in place is a fun thing, well it was for me , i have a 5.0 harness and computer here if it would be of any help to you ,
    I love your lawn around the shop !!!! but must be hell on the mower blades :D:D:eek:

    Shop is WIP,got a couple more shelves installed but still can decide on layout.Got to fit the queen(73) inside and all my tools and crap.
    Trying to finish main house before heat gets here.Match exterior color to garage,3 more interior rooms to paint,new floors and carpet...
    Come along way in a few months,almost there.Will be glad to have grease in my nails again.Fook a bunch of paint!

    At last,all major new house projects are done.Started gathering parts for 5.0 mass air swap this winter.Found one of my stang main harness looms but no injector/O2 pigtails.Does anyone know if donor injector/O2 harness off MK7 SD compatible with mass air main harness?Blk and wht conectors look to be same.

    Yes its the same as long as your MK SD is an Ho Roller and it should be

    Yes,HO.Ill pin out before installing.Still need fuel pump harness/relay/inertia switch from EEC if you come across one.Very few foxs in yards here.
    Do I need to install AIR idler or can I route new belt from pump to alternator?(if I can find correct length)Using OE brackets/hardware with AC.

    i have a harness from a 1990 302 mustang ,its complete ,injector /rear /inertia switch, o2 / would this be any use to you John

    Thanks Carl!Amazon had one for cheap.
    Got a spare main harness,but thank you for offer Andy.Thinking I should be able to get fuel pump wires/switches off most ford EFI cars of same vintage at the yard.Just got to get off my butt,root around see what will work.

    Actually did not bother with unemployment
    non working time was only 2 weeks and I had 3 jobs to chose from. Was looking for work wile on SDI Was on SDI for Surgery most of the time off do not think 900 or so bucks is worth the hassle...
