I didn't see it either time,...or thought it was an irrelevant question. One of those. A little over 1,500 miles on the entire package. I took great care putting that engine together. Care and a lot of money.
Well, then it won't be a big deal to make it right again. 1500 miles with it pinging it's brains out might kill the pistons and /or cylinder bores, but neither is a show stopper. How far are you from Connecticut? I own a machine shop and could possibly help.
Took me about 8 hours to drive to Hartford last year. I never in my life want to drive through NYC again. NEVER. I know fixing this stuff isn't that hard. I really don't want to do it, though. I don't have the time, money, but mostly desire to take that engine apart again. I'd rather stick a straight 6 in there and let her rip.
The 460 is a tank. Heck, I haven't been able to even damage mine yet, mush less kill it. Take the time and make it right, old boy.
Like you would? Hahahahahahahaha....cough cough....hahahaha. I don't have the space or tools to pull that huge anchor out of the engine bay. Nor do I have the money to rebuild it. Plus, the trans needs a going through too. I'll just drive it until it dies.
get the car outta the weather!!!!!. then it will be there if you got 5 minutes to spend on it , little at a time that's what I have done ,and little bits of money Yea Little Bits ,
My son is VA. as we speak, (I think right by you) and I never drive through NYC - you can keep that crap. I use the inland route - 81 to 84, I'm just south of Hartford.
It's easy to build a garage in Florida, which is flat as a pancake. I can only do so much in my budget. I've spent 3 days making a flat spot. Next up is a couple tons of gravel (like 20). Then, when I can afford it, a slab of concrete. Then, when pigs fly, I'll build a garage on that slab. In the meantime I bought a really nice car cover. Is he working here, or just passing through. I can give him a tour of this place.
Good ! A cover is a great start, now go get one of those $600 tube frame aluminum car port thingys and anchor it on your flat spot. You can later sneak up on more metal to finish enclosing it. You have way too much work invested in that Ranchero to let it be beaten up by nature's wrath. Nothing is bear proof if you run into a determined bear. Make sure no crackers or candy bars are in that Ranchero, maybe go so far as to place some moth balls in a box in the interior.
I'm hoping one of my Ranchero family starts a GoFundMe to help me get a cover for this thing. Hint. Can I put you down for $600?
Really? What day? I bet people here don't know about how we slept in the same bed in Richmond, just not at the same time.
YEA, the Go Fund Me people are THIEFS !!! The Crenshaws never got the funds ,around 500.00 there, See if you can help get that back , I can give a word of half it, for you and your 30.000 ++++ Torino -Ranchero
